27-year-old Carri Mundane, a.k.a. Cassette Playa, is best known for her Nu Rave craziness. She’s fashion editor of SuperSuper magazine, i-D stylist and collaborator on Dazed & Confused.
She pulls block graphics from the early web world and adds plugs of flashing neon for a sunglass-needing look. Think Aztec tribal art in Ribena purple, Wotsit orange and Cookie Monster blue and you’ll pretty much be there.

Cassette Playa debuted at MAN with a film installation in February 2006. Her toxicolour uniform for hard boys battling real and virtual worlds invaded the MAN runway with Sci-Fi grime boys who wore tracksuits with text message referencing appliqué.
For A/W07 she designed a vibrant luxury t-shirt collection with hi-tec holograms and hieroglyphic prints.
Her S/S collection on the MAN stage (see images above) went down a storm.
